1.Raycop RS2 UV Sanitizing HEPA - Editor's Choice
Raycop RS2 vacuum cleaner, according to me, is one of the neatest vacuum cleaners I have ever used. I bought it because I read someone online that, it is number one selling in Japan and thus, wanted to know how true that statement was. It going for quite a price on Amazon, but should you be able to afford it, I can safely recommend this elite option.
How it works is what really amazes me. First, it vibrates in order to enable the dust and dirt to loosen on the surfaces such as the mattress, couch, drapes or even chairs. There is a UV light which then kills all the available germs and viruses so that you will stay in an environment devoid of them. After all, is done, it sucks all the debris into its vacuum and stores it in its HEPA filter.
Ordering this particular vacuum cleaner on Amazon could enable you to get a free Prime shipping to your destination. When it arrives, it comes in a cardboard box which is regular. Inside the box, you will get accessories such as a microfiber cloth which you will use to make sure that the vacuum cleaner keeps its shine, a brush to enable you to clean the filter and a stand which you will use when you want to store it after use.
If you have the budget, the Raycop RS2 the best Mattress vacuum cleaner (not factoring in cost) in this review.
2. Housmile UV Vacuum Cleaner - My Budget Pick
My favorite budget mattress vacuum on the list. I actually own this particular vacuum cleaner and it has served me well, more than I had anticipated. It is a mattress cleaner which combines several methods to make sure that all the stains and germs are removed permanently from your mattress.

3. Dyson V6 Mattress Handheld Vacuum Cordless
The Dyson Mattress vacuum is a handheld vacuum cleaner which is battery powered. According to the manufacturer, all mattresses are covered with dust mites and dust mites feces, hair, dead skin cells, and other microscopic dirt which you cannot see with the naked eye!
This may very well be true. My grandma has the same problem as me and whenever she used to go to sleep in her bed at night, she used to automatically get an asthmatic attack. I decided to buy her her this mattress vacuum cleaner from Dyson, partly because I wanted to review it, and partly to help her breathe better during her sleep.
Well guess what, the attacks became past tense. It comes with a powerful suction, several attachments. At this price, you will be a proud owner of this vacuum cleaner.
If you decide to purchase it, you will find out that, it is made of mostly plastic materials, white in color with accents that are turquoise. The dust receptacle is gun shaped, with a trigger and a safety lock in the ejector which is red in color. When using it, all you need to do is pull the trigger, press the maximum button to boost suction power. By doing so, you will impact negatively on the battery power which will move from 20 minutes to 6 minutes life. But the good thing is that you will have killed the dust mites and collected all the garbage from your mattress and other household items such as the couch.
4. Sowtech Cordless Handheld Mattress Vacuum
The Sowtech is a cordless handheld vacuum cleaner comes with so many attachments like the extension tubes, carpet attachment which works well for floors made of hardwood but not good for carpets. The suction is very powerful with the red indicator on the charger which turns on immediately..
The only major complaint we have with this model, is that the battery takes too long to charge. When it is fully charged, that will be about 6 hours, it will turn on green.
We like this vacuum cleaner, but due to its lack of aesthetics, and long charging time, we chose to downgrade it to a 3.5 star rating.
The filter which is made of stainless steel has so many washable materials, making it durable as compared to some other makes with the same price tag. Its battery is very strong, at 4000mAh, you expect it to charge faster and allow it to run for 30 minutes nonstop. You can use it anywhere now that it is cordless with the accessories which come with it, being able to help you clean up wherever you want to do the cleaning, irrespective of the curve. It is easy to use, picking up hairs, dust, crumbs and other small particles from your mattress and other household surfaces.

5. Iris IC-FDCI Vacuum Cleaner
This vacuum cleaner is portable and can be used to clean various items in the house. Apart from the mattress, you can easily use it to clean the car seats, stairs, and couches but it cannot vacuum carpets or floors.
I did have some issues with this model, mainly that the suction power was not strong enough, and that it struggles to pick up larger dust particles when vacuuming. I got in touch with the experts at Clean Home Guide, and their experience seemed to resonate with mine.
Otherwise, I liked the design, and the dust sensor is very useful. I thus decided to downgrade this vacuum to 3 stars, and unfortunately cannot recommend it above the other options in this review.
The built-in agitator enables the dust and dirt to loosen, and later, cleaning becomes easier, leaving the surface spotless clean. In order to save on power, it has a bedding sensor fixed on the head of the vacuum. Dust level is shown via the use of indicator lights and dust sensor on the vacuum.

Its double suction enables two suction inlets of both the bottom and the top, collecting bacteria and dust into the dust box. It comes with a sterilization mode, dust cleaning mode, flap model, and heating material, accessories which will come in handy and which other regular cleaning machines don’t have.
This is a good high-end option, but we will still take the RayCop RS2 above it!
Apart from cleaning your mattress, this vacuum cleaner will be able to clean thin quilts, carpets, bed cover, cushions, pillows and sofa clothes just to mention but a few of the many other things which it could easily clean.
Types of Vacuum Cleaners
There are various types of vacuum cleaners and styles available in the market. I will address each one of them so that, you decide which one will best suit your needs for cleaning your mattress.
1. Upright Vacuum
It is one of the most preferred vacuum cleaners as it is capable of removing dirt and dust from mattresses, carpets, and even be able to clean a large area at a go. They can also be used when cleaning hard floors and area rugs. It is important to note that, note all upright vacuums can be used on hard floors since they might damage the floor and the vacuum as well. So before you decide that you are in for an upright vacuum, better do your research on the various brands to make sure that, it is one that can work on hard floors to give you an added advantage.
If you have decided that the upright vacuum is the way to go, check out onboard attachment, one that is bag-less or not, how much weight is the unit. They are available in different sizes and styles with each having different specifications as far as weight and other attachments are concerned. If you want to be using it for the wall to wall cleaning too, then you have to go for one with edge cleaning as it is able to pick all the dirt under the entire area where the head points.
2. Robot Vacuum
They are battery operated and completely hands-free. They work by seeking out and sucking up dust, debris, and dirt. They are the best if you want to be doing your mattress vacuuming on a daily basis and extremely popular with those who own pets and you want your mattress to stay clean all the time. It is self-propelled and programmable and thus, you need not do any extra work when it comes to vacuuming. To avoid stairs and other obstacles, they use sensors. So if you are one of those who doesn’t have time to walk around the house, including the mattress during vacuuming, this could be your best pick.
3. Carpet/Steam Cleaners
They are available in different styles ranging from portable to upright ones. You can also find handheld carpet cleaners in the market, thus you have a lot of variety to choose from. It is capable of cleaning and disinfecting your mattress, rugs, furniture, and drapes. Even if you are always vacuuming your mattress, things such as spills dust mites, pet dander, and bacteria are always present. In order to contain this issue, the steam cleaners use heat and moisture to loosen the stains and dirt which other vacuums are unable to remove. Unwanted germs are killed in the process and thus, if you are looking for a night on a clean mattress, then go the carpet cleaners style.
In recent days, they have become popular due to the fact that, environmentalist see them as the green alternative to cleaning. Most of them resemble upright vacuums with cleaning solution in one tank that contains hot water while there is another tank that is used to hold the dirty water. If there is anyone in the home who suffers from chemicals and allergies then you should go for this particular vacuum cleaner.
4. Canister Vacuum
They are easy to use as well as portable. If you clean a variety of mattress plus other surfaces but is loved by people who love hard surface vacuuming. Compared to other designs, it is lighter and is easy to maneuver, reaching tight spots with ease.
They come with their bag and motor fixed in a separate unit, mounted on wheels and this helps to make it more maneuverable. A flexible hose is what fixes the vacuum head to the canister.
It is able to dislodge small particles from the surface of the mattress using the revolving brush agitator or brush system. So when your favorite pet decides to pull a fast on your bed, this could be the best vacuum to use. They come with replaceable bags but you can get one that is bagless. Get it if you want to reach those hard to reach spots in your mattress corner and at the same time, use it on your furniture and other spots on your carpet and floor. I also use it to vacuum my car.
5. Handheld and Stick Vacuum
In the market, they are the smallest and lightest options which are available. Most of them are operated on batteries and are cordless making them offer convenience when it comes to doing some cleaning around the house including your mattress. Apart from using it on your mattress, you can utilize it on car interiors, upholstery, blinds, vents, closets, and above the floor cleaning. Use it to clean small spills on the mattress and any other area, getting out cobwebs or vacuuming dirt from window panes and sills.
When it comes to sticking vacuums, they tend to be similar to upright vacuums with the difference being in the weight; stick vacuum being lightweight and coming minus attachments.
6. Commercial and Garage (both wet and dry) Vacuum
They are most of the time referred to as shop vacs. When it comes to professional messes, it is the best to go for. When you want to clean basements, water, and dirt garages, or a mattress that is so messy, then this could be the right one to work with. You will need to think about storage and where you are going to use it apart from the mattress vacuuming to decide if you really need this type.
What to Consider When Shopping For A Vacuum
Before you decide on which vacuum is good for your mattress and which will work well for you, you will need to look at other additional features which are common on most quality vacuums, which might be important in the long run.
If you are someone who is allergic to pet hairs or dust, then the filters are a must-have. Get through online reviews and choose one with the filter you think will work well for you. I picked on HEPA filters and I have never regretted my choice. You will get some models which require a frequent replacement of the filter while others include reusable filters in their purchase package. If you want to save money, then you will be better off buying one with reusable filters.
Designs which are bag-less seem to be most preferred by those whom I have come across using vacuums. It could be due to their property of detaching the container unit from the vacuum when necessary, dispose of away the dirt without having to tag along with the entire vacuum. You can still go for bag designs because they seem to hold dust better due to the bag itself sealing off the dust. It then prevents any mess from occurring when cleaning the mattress or whatever you are vacuuming around the house. If you are allergic to dust and pets hair, then the bag is the best way to go.
3. Vacuum Attachments and Accessories
If you want to do more than just the mattress vacuuming, then you will need to look at the various attachments and accessories. For you to be able to clean the sofas, drapes, and chairs, get to all the corners in your house, you will need to make sure that you have the right attachments on your vacuum cleaner. If you will be interested in making sure that all the corners are clean, then go for the crevice tool. An upholstery will be good when doing the furniture without having to cause any damage. Getting the dust from tables and shelves will be done perfectly well if you have a dusting brush. A turbo brush will be the best when it comes to carpets which are longer.
4. Multi-surface Flooring
If, apart from the mattress, you want to do a variety of floor surfaces in your house, then go for the multi-surface flooring. They will allow you to turn the brush roll on and off at will, depending on where you are doing the vacuuming. This will allow you to avoid scratching the soft spots on your floor when you are transitioning from carpet to mattress to floor.
Buy a vacuum cleaner which will be the best mattress cleaner as well as help you in cleaning other areas in the home. In short, buy a vacuum cleaner that is multi-purpose because that way, you will get maximum use of it and thus, good value for your money. Choose wisely so that, after a short while, you don’t have to run to the shop chasing after a new model. This is why we recommend the Raycop Cordless RS 2 for those who have the funds, otherwise go for the Housemile corded Mattress Vacuum.
